I should email what would have been in this comment. So I will.

Is this being discussed anywhere? I've bounced around the usual blog suspects, and there's nothing. Maybe there's just nothing to talk about, but if I'm missing a bunch of rabid Levy fans venting in a comment section somewhere, I'd love to know.

They are welcome to vent here.

Well, I'll vent. This is a travesty. If Jacob is not tenurable on his merits, then no one is. Not that they care what I think, but putting Dan & Jacob together, I think the U of C poli sci dept. has really disgraced itself. I'm sure Jacob will find a better situation elsewhere. Clearly Chicago doesn't deserve him, and he deserves better.

Brilliant; the real venting gets started just at the hour that we start to drink a bit of the old ethyl whatnot on a Thursday night. No, but I feel the same way. Only -- at least Will Wilk. did a bit of political philosophy at some point in academia; I've done not that, not even a class; just a whole lot of dabbling, but Christ, I dabble in everything; and so I freely admit that I haven't the slightest idea whether Jacob T. Levy should be tenured or not. Cordelia loves; but is Lear a fraud? It's not an untenable reading, for one who doesn't know the characters. Still, even if it were only for the blogging, it's been damn good, right? And I think I can extrapolate, though I sadly, sadly have... no evidence at all of that. None at all. Someone say something authoritative, please.
